Rubin
Nizri picked up his first pair of sticks at the
age of twelve and hasn't put them down since. Rubin started
playing with bands at the age of sixteen, when he and some
fellow musicians formed the group Profile.
He continued to find success behind the drums and started
playing professionally with a well- known Israeli artist,
Galit Burg. At the age of nineteen, he
decided to move to the United States to pursue his music.
He landed in the Big Apple, where he would reside for the
next ten years. While in New York, he continued performing
and developing as a drummer. Learning from the best, Rubin
started taking lessons with well-known drummers such as
Zach Denziger and Victor Jones.
He also studied at the Drummer's Collective
Faculty in Manhattan. While working in New York City, Rubin
had the opportunity to play with a wide variety of artists
including: Lea Carla Gordone, Cleopatra Jonz, Sixty
Five, and Alien Life. He occasionally
would jam with artist such as: Jon Herington
from Steely Dan, Mark Pender from the Max
Weinberg 7, and Alex Foster and
Leon Pendarvis from the Saturday Night Live Band.
Currently Rubin is in New York City drumming.
